The āzhvār directed his heart to Thiruvengadamudaiyan and took it to the hill to worship Him. However, Srinivasa did not welcome the āzhvār as expected or engage him in service. The āzhvār felt sorrowful! He lamented, "I have grown up committing sins, and I have come to you in repentance. You are the protector of all, and Piratti (the goddess) is with you in compassion.
