lying still atop the bed of serpent which has five heads and mouths —

 in the cruel battle —

desiring the war which carries respect —

in a big battlefield —

wearing the grains of fragrant, minute pollens from the blue water lily which had been crushed by the stamping of swans —

mahābali, who was like the warrior demon rāvaṇa —

 for rāvaṇan who is a chariot warrior and an able fighter of sword, —

demoniacal rāvaṇan —

sumukha, the resplendent snake —

thiruvananthāzhwān (ādhiṣĕshan, the divine mattress for emperumān), who has many dots (circular spots) on his body and thousands of mouths as well as radiance —

being a radiant leader among asuras [demonic entities] —

 with brahmāsthram —

the One with conch, the bow, the sword —

one who is having the lofty divine five weapons as part of the incarnation to measure the world —

the five divine weapons —

with a sword in it —

what is the use of these wasted things? —

it is like a unique sword which cut my heart —

having teeth like a sword (being resplendent) —

having canine teeth resembling swords —
