Simple Translation

2416. The divine one of Thiruvallikkeni, as beautiful as a peacock, who rests on the five heads of the snake ādisesha where the large waves of the dark ocean roll and dash on the shores is quietly lying now without opening his mouth. Is he tired because he measured the world with his feet?

நீள் ஓதம் — பெரிய அலைகள்; வந்து — கரையிலே வந்து; அலைக்கும் — வீசும்; மா மயிலை — மயிலாபுரிக்கு அடுத்த; மா அல்லிக்கேணியான் — அல்லிக்கேணியில் இருப்பவன்; ஐந்தலை — ஐந்து தலைகளையும்; வாய் — வாய்களையும் உடைய; நாகத்து அணை — ஆதிசேஷன் மேல்; வாளா — அசையாமல்; கிடந்தருளும் — சயனித்திருக்கிறான்; வாய் — வாய் திறந்து ஒரு வார்த்தையும்; திறவான் — சொல்லாதிருக்கிறான்; தாளால் — திருவடியாலே; உலகம் அளந்த — உலகம் அளந்த; அசைவேகொல்? — ஆயாஸமோ?

nīl̤ ŏdham vandhu alaikkum māmayilai māvallikkĕniyān — one who has taken residence at the great thiruvallikkĕṇi which is near the great thirumayilai where waves come and lap; aindhalai vāy nāgaththu aṇai vāl̤ā kidandharul̤um — lying still atop the bed of serpent which has five heads and mouths; vāy thiṛavān — he is not even speaking; thāl̤āl ulagam al̤andha asaivĕ kol — (is this) because of the tiredness after measuring the worlds?
