dhĕvādhi dhĕvan enap paduvān

he is famously called as the lord of all dhĕvas (celestial entities)

 eerththa nedu vĕygal̤ padu muththam undha 

 and pushing (into the fields) the pearls that are in the bamboo sticks that it pulls along with it,

ennai āl̤ paduththu

make me become subservient

kavalaiyul̤ paduginṛār enṛu

being plagued by sorrows

nāṇap padum enṛāl

if one should stay quietly

ār idar paduvār

who will experience sorrows?

padu kadhaiyum

ithihāsas (epics) which came about to describe the old narrations

kal̤am paduththu

killing those enemies (in the war)

 kaṇ padukkum 

 resting

kaṇ paduthta āzhi

ocean on which [you are] reclining
