very saintly persons such as sanaka, sanandhana, etc., rishis —

the good deed of the ultimate devotees who attain such devotees of emperumān [as mentioned in the previous word] will defeat. —

am rid of the intention to do such thapas (penance) . —

you are the head of celestial entities such as brahmā et al who became celestial entities after carrying out penance. —

due to the intensity of the penance, those places themselves heat up so explain some people. —

karmayŏgam which has been spoken of in the four vĕdhas —

having thapas (penance) in the form of gyānam (knowledge) —

got such fortune; —

who reaped the benefit out of carrying out the penance of reciting the divine names of emperumān —

 performing penance —

carrying out penance —

those who did penance —

carried out penance —

 no need to perform penance; —

it is ī who reaped the benefit of carrying out that penance —

penance —

unlike him who is having the fortune of being undisturbed in separation —

even related austerities like disinterest in material world, riddance of trouble to others, services to ones guru, etc., (that are not done for the only purpose of making emperumān happy), —

that is, firm devotion to surrender (ṣaraṇāgathi nishta) —

entities such as brahmā et al, who carry out penance for a long time and obtain exalted physical forms —
