I Sang This Garland of Verses Only After Performing Penance.

தவம் செய்தே இந்தப் பாமாலை பாடினேன்

2255 யானே தவஞ்செய்தேன் ஏழ்பிறப்புமெப்பொழுதும் *
யானேதவமுடையேன் எம்பெருமான்! * - யானே
இருந்ததமிழ்நன்மாலை இணையடிக்கேசொன்னேன் *
பெருந்தமிழன்நல்லேன்பெரிது.

2255. I have received the fruit of all the tapas of seven births, for I have composed a wonderful garland of Tamil pāsurams and placed it at his feet. I am fortunate to have written them in fine Tamil.
