Simple Translation

2399. If a devotee does a tapas worshiping him who came in the form of a man-lion and split open the chest of the Asuran Hiranyan with his sharp claws, that devotee will overcome the benefit of any tapas that his enemies have done.

மாறு ஆய — சத்ருவான; தானவனை — இரணியனின்; மார்வு — மார்பை; வள் உகிரால் — கூறிய நகங்களால்; இரண்டு — இரண்டு; கூறாகக் கீறிய — பிளவாகப் பிளந்த; கோள் — மிடுக்குடைய; அரியை — நரசிம்ம மூர்த்தியை; வேறாக — உண்மை உள்ளத்தோடு; ஏத்தியிருப்பாரை — வணங்குபவர்களை; மற்று அவரை — அப்படிப்பட்டவர்களை; சார்த்தி இருப்பார் — சார்ந்திருக்கும் பக்தர்களின்; தவம் — தவம் நிச்சயம்; வெல்லுமே — ஸித்திக்கும்

māṛu āya — standing as an opponent; dhānavanai — the demon hiraṇya kashyap’s; mārvu — chest; val̤ ugirāl — with sharp finger nails; iraṇdu kūṛagak kīṛiya — splitting it into two; kŏl̤ ariyai — narasimha mūrthy, who is very strong; vĕṛu āga — as a dinstinguished entity; ĕththi iruppārai — those who worship him; maṝu avarai sāththi iruppār thavam vellumĕ — the good deed of the ultimate devotees who attain such devotees of emperumān [as mentioned in the previous word] will defeat.
