engaging in union which is difficult to comprehend —

asking him “ṅrant me three steps of land” —

saying ‘give me three steps of land’ —

digging out the expansive earth from the wall of the universe —

 the earth —

captured the whole surface of the earth —

the beautiful thirukkudandhai (kumbakŏṇam) which is at the centre of earth —

the divine feet which measured the world —

in the matter of the beautiful divine feet which measured the outer worlds as well as earth, desirously —

 measured the world —

(without considering his greatness) the one who has the simplicity of measuring all the worlds —

measuring the earth —

measured the worlds —

sarvĕṣvara (lord of all) who measured the worlds —

as you lie on the lap —

 having beauty like that of a jewel hill —

manifesting his radiant nature resembling a precious gem (which is greater than gold in radiance and great worth) —

it is the sarvĕṣvaran (supreme being) himself who is existing as the body composed of the five elements —

one who reclines on ādhiṣĕshan who has beautiful carbuncles and sweetly identified hoods —

the burden of demoniac people who are the enemies —
