மண்ணளந்தவனே! நின்னை ஏத்தாத நாள் வீணான நாள்

2664 பிறப்பிறப்பு மூப்புப் பிணிதுறந்து * பின்னும்
இறக்கவுமின்புடைத்தாமேலும் * - மறப்பெல்லாம்
ஏதமே என்றல்லால் எண்ணுவனே? * மண்ணளந்தான்

Simple Translation

2664. Even if I have no births, no old age and sickness, even if I am happy on this earth, I will not want any of those things. I think the days that I have not praiseed and worshiped him who measured the world at Mahbali’s sacrifice are all days of sorrow.

பிறப்பு இறப்பு மூப்புப் பிணி — பிறப்பு இறப்பு மூப்புப் பிணி என்னும் வியாதிகளையும்; துறந்து பின்னும் — ஒழித்து மேலும்; இறக்கவும் — இவற்றை போக்கிய பின்; இன்பு — இன்பமயமான மோக்ஷம்; உடைத்தாமேலும் — கிடைத்தாலும் வேண்டாம் என்பேன்; மண் அளந்தான் — உலகமளந்த பெருமானின்; பாதமே ஏத்தா — திருவடிகளை வாழ்த்தி வணங்காது; பகல் மறப்பு எல்லாம் — மறந்த நாட்கள் எல்லாம்; ஏதமே என்று அல்லால் — துன்பமென்றே எண்ணுவேனே தவிர; எண்ணுவனே? — வேறுவகையாக எண்ணுவேனோ?

piṛappu iṛappu mūppu piṇi thuṛandhu — getting rid of birth, death, old age and disease; pinnum — beyond that; iṛakkavum inbu udaiththāmĕlum — even if the immeasurable blissful kaivalya mŏksham (a state in which āthmā enjoys itself) occurs; maṇ al̤andhān — sarvĕṣvara (lord of all) who measured the worlds; pādham — divine feet; ĕththā — not worshipped; pagal — that which occurs during that time; maṛappu ellām — being forgetful [of emperumān]; ĕdhamĕ enṛallāl eṇṇuvanĕ — will ī think of it as anything other than being the embodiment of sorrow?
