Simple Translation

2693. “‘When he took the form of a dwarf and went to the king Mahābali, asking for three feet of land, that king assented, pouring water on the dwarf’s hands. Then, tricking him, the god took a tall form and measured the world and the sky with his two feet. 21

அன்றியும் — மேலும்; பேர் வாமன் ஆகிய — வாமனனாக வந்த காலத்தில்; காலத்து மூவடிமண் — மூன்றடி மண்; மாவலியை — மகாபலியிடம்; தாராய் எனக்கு — தானமாகத் தாராய்; என்று வேண்டி — என்று யாசித்து; சலத்தினால் — வஞ்சகமாய்; நீர் ஏற்று — அவன் அளித்த நீரை ஏற்று; நின்று — வளர்ந்து நின்று; உலகு எல்லாம் — உலகங்களை எல்லாம்; அளந்தான் — அளந்தான்
