dam was built on that ocean (by ṣrī rāma) and was broken —

we both [āzhvār and his heart] have that knowledge —

measured the worlds, wearing lightning as his divine clothing. —

of the one with great and beautiful shoulders, —

having cool/beautiful thul̤asi —

 the lord who is having divine form with dark complexion —

you who is having a nice sleep! —

azhagar emperumān who is completely merciful —

ḫor us, is there any one other than you! —

is it not difficult to have [such intelligence]? —

one who is having the radiant divine disc —

thrivikrama’s puffed up divine shoulders which blew to smithereens the eight directions (when he measured the worlds) —

those who have me as their servant —

those which are my belongings —

entered my tongue —

the words spoken (by ignorant people) that he is equal —

what separate goals/plans are you having? —

swāmy who has made me your servitor —

that he possess such (quality of being described in such words); —

thinking that it is the lightning amidst clouds —
