manaththilŏr thūymaiyillai
āzhvār begins by admitting that his mind is impure, referencing the teaching from Śrī Viṣṇu Purāṇam (1.4.41) which says that only those with a purified mind can understand that the entire world is pervaded by knowledge and is the body of emperumān. The Chāndogya Upaniṣad (3.13.7) similarly teaches that the paramāthma cannot be perceived
