Simple Translation

2119. The hill where the Asurans and the gods come and worship Thirumāl who, shining like a jewel, killed the snake and conquered the heroic elephant of the gypsies is Thiruvenkatam where the clouds with lightning float.

ஒண் குறவர் — அழகிய குறவர்கள்; மால் யானை பேர — பெரிய யானைகளை விரட்ட; எறிந்த — வீசியெறிந்த; பெரு மணியை — பெரிய மாணிக்கத்தை; கார் உடைய — மேகத்தினிடையே; மின் — மின்னல் என நினைத்து; ஊரும் — ஊர்ந்து செல்லும்; வரி அரவம் — வரிகளையுடைய பாம்பு; புற்று அடையும் — புற்றினுள்ளே நுழையும் திருவேங்கடமே; வேங்கடமே மேல் அசுரர் — நித்யஸூரிகள்; எம் என்னும் — எங்களுடையது என்று அபிமானிக்கும்; மால் அது இடம் — எம்பெருமானது திவ்யதேசமாகும்

ūrum — that which crawls; vari aravam — snake with lines (on its body); oṇ kuravar — wise inhabitants (hunters) of thirumalai hill; māl yānai pĕra — making the huge elephants, which are graśing in the fields, to leave; eṛindha — thrown (on those elephants); peru maṇiyai — huge carbuncle gems; kār udaiya min enṛu¬† — thinking that it is the lightning amidst clouds; puṝu adiyum vĕnkatamĕ — (fearing the thunder) such snakes entering their anthills in thiruvĕnkatam; mĕla surar — distinguished celestial beings [nithyasūris]; em ennum — thinking that this is ours; māladhu idam — is the place desired by emperumān as his dhivyadhĕṣam.
