by whom this earth was measured —

as an infant who ate [from] the bosom of the demon pūthana such that she cried out in pain —

he mercifully consumed —

one who has the ability to protect all during pral̤ayam (annihilation) —

in an earlier time, as the lord, keeping all these worlds in his divine stomach and looking after them —

one who consumed everything during samhāram as explained in brahma sūthram 1-2-9 -aththā charāchara grahaṇāth- —

one who consumed all these during samhāram and stayed firm —

 which after drinking water such that only sand remained —

kaṇṇan (krishṇa who drank the poisonous milk from pūthanā’s bosom —

to fill up the mouth of the skull which eagles eat as food —

in the form of a bow (which is used to shoot clay-balls) —

eating secretly —

one who stole and ate —

due to stealing and consuming it —

 mercifully consumed them in the same manner —

annihilating —

consumed (the milk she gave) —

protecting them by keeping them in the stomach —

(while being destroyed during pral̤ayam (annihilation)) placed in your stomach and protected them —

one who drank —
