emperumān having he complexion of waves which are close together —

one who has taken residence at the great thiruvallikkĕṇi which is near the great thirumayilai where waves come and lap —

like an ocean and like the water from a stream —

is there anyone who can think of? (there is no one) —

is there anyone who will meditate? (there is none) —

churned the dark ocean initially —

the waves in thiruppāṛkadal [kshīrābdhi or milky ocean] —

ocean which is full of water and which keeps throwing up waves —

one who is reclining on the milky ocean with waves having conches —

the divine feet of that emperumān who has the complexion of a dark sea —

the creator of the fire which will burn the ocean with a rage —

the one who has the complexion of cloud and ocean —

emperumān with the complexion of large ocean —

ŏh supreme being, with the colour of ocean! —

ŏh the supreme being who is having the form of ocean which is surrounding this world! —

ŏh lord of all, who has a divine form similar to the ocean which is surrounding (earth) —

having the complexion of a full ocean —

such that ocean will keep lapping —

one who has the colour of the stagnant ocean —

having agitating waves —
