emperumān who killed the demon madhu —

one who killed madhu —

one who finished my hurdles (since ī have the desire to enjoy him) like he finished the demon madhu —

one who destroyed madhu who robbed the vĕdham which is the cause for knowledge —

eliminated just as he eliminated madhu [demon] —

eliminating the hurdles for enjoyment, just as he eliminated madhu —

one who eliminates the hurdles of enjoyment —

being the destroyer of madhu (who was an enemy of the protected ones) —

having annihilated the demon, madhu —

destroyer of demon madhu —

for madhusūdhana —

oh one who is capable of eliminating my hurdles like you eliminated [the demon] madhu! —

being the destroyer of my hurdles like you destroyed the demon named madhu —
