A Mother's worry - (நல்லது ஓர்)
தலைவன்பின் சென்ற மகளைக்குறித்துத் தாய் பலபடி உன்னி ஏங்குதல்
The mother realized that her daughter had deep love for Krishna and had been united with him. Relatives advised, "Before the townsfolk start speaking ill, take her to the Lord." But the mother didn't listen. One night, while the mother and daughter were sleeping, Krishna took the girl away. The mother woke up and saw that her daughter was missing. She panicked and wailed, lamenting for the daughter she had lovingly raised. What an experience the āzhvār conveys!

dew has made fresh lotuses shed their petals and the blossoms
to shed their pollen, my house looks empty.
I haven’t seen my daughter anywhere.
Did she go towards Madhura city following Him who
destroyed the Asurans, when they came disguised as wrestlers?

We announced to our relatives that we are giving her
in marriage to Dāmodaran.
We made her worship the peepul tree( according to our custom)
Will the people beat the sounding drums,
and decorate this village with beautiful garlands?

Seeing her lovely fish eyes, red mouth, round breasts,
waist and beautiful arms,
will he say, “How can the mother of one like you
be able live apart from you?”
