298 ஒன்றுமறிவொன்றில்லாத உருவறைக்கோபாலர்தங்கள் *
கன்றுகால்மாறுமாபோலே கன்னியிருந்தாளைக்கொண்டு *
நன்றும்கிறிசெய்துபோனான் நாராயணன்செய்ததீமை *
என்றும்எமர்கள்குடிக்கு ஓரேச்சுக்கொலாயிடுங்கொலோ?

298 ŏṉṟum aṟivu ŏṉṟu illāta * uruvaṟaik kopālar taṅkal̤ *
kaṉṟu kāl māṟumā pole * kaṉṉi iruntāl̤aik kŏṇṭu **
naṉṟum kiṟi cĕytu poṉāṉ * nārāyaṇaṉ cĕyta tīmai *

Simple Translation

298. Like the ignorant, simple-looking cowherds who steal calves Nārāyanān has taken away my obedient daughter with him by his charms. Won’t this terrible thing that Nārāyanān did be a disgrace to our family?
