he who did not say na namĕyam (rāvaṇan saying even his dead body wont fall on perumāl̤s feet), using the faculties of the body that ḥe ḥimself gave, but surrendered to ḥim, —

ŏther than the divine feet of your highness, —

(his) divine lotus feet —

ḥe did not give ḥis divine feet; —

he is the means (path to attain) —

divine feet —

the divine feet (of kūraththāzhvān), —

as the means. —

being the means for all the four purushārthams (benefits) [righteousness, wealth, lust and liberation] —

if we just said just one sentence that you are the shelter (charaṇam), —

your divine feet only —

the lotus that is the divine feet (of the āzhvār) —

having himself as the protector —

divine feet only —
