hiraṇya kashyap who could not live with you —

he [ṣrī rāma] stood with his bow drawn, giving all sorts of troubles which kara would undergo in narakam such that he need not experience more troubles (in another narakam more cruel than this) —

to protect so as not to get immersed —

one who protects (his followers) from coming to samsāram (materialistic realm) —

will not go to the horrible hell —

one who did not bow down and get redeemed, but got annihilated —

of those, who, due to their thought of ignoring vĕdhas as authoritative, and having faith in their incorrect interpretations, having the state of not in harmony with the truth —

not having associated —

how to prevent from reaching there —

so as not to fall —

not to be trapped —

not reaching —
