having arrows constantly on the drawn bow (in order to protect followers), ready for action —

and were ashamed —

feeling ashamed (due to not retaining the true nature [having done all of these] and not attaining the desire [of emperumān-s arrival]) —

feeling shy (to speak) —

feeling ashamed (thinking how will his desire be fulfilled) —

 feeling ashamed —

being the one who is wearing a waist string on top of the garment —

 ī felt ashamed; —

feeling shy —
