கண்ணா! நின் பெயரையே நான் பிதற்ற அருள்

கண்ணநீரலமர * வினையேன்
பேணுமாறெல்லாம்பேணி நின்பெயரே
பிதற்றுமாறருளெனக்கந்தோ! *
காணுமாறருளாய்காகுத்தா! கண்ணா!
தொண்டனேன்கற்பகக்கனியே! *
பேணுவாரமுதே! பெரியதண்புனல்சூழ்

Simple Translation

Agitated stands this sinner, tears flooding my eyes. Many times did I call You, eager to behold Your exquisite Form. Many methods did I adopt, all of which failed. Your grace rests merely on my prattling Your names. Oh Lord, You incarnated as Kākuttaṉ and Kaṇṇan. You are the fruit of the wish-yielding tree for this vassal. Nectar of the devout, You redeemed the Earth from the deep waters. Oh Benefactor great, may You be visible unto me.
