The presiding deity of Thirukannamangai is known by the divine names Bhaktavatsala Perumal and Patharaviperumal. The Thayar is Abhishekamalli. The āzhvār, having surrendered his heart to the Lord of Thirukannamangai, sings these verses in deep devotion.
