அமுதமளித்தவன் வாழும் இடம் திருவல்லிக்கேணி

வந்தபேய்அலறிமண்சேர *
நஞ்சமர்முலையூடு உயிர்செகவுண்ட
நாதனைத் தானவர்கூற்றை *

வியந்துதுதிசெய்யப்பெண்ணுருவாகி *
அஞ்சுவையமுதம்அன்று அளித்தானைத்

Simple Translation

1070. To deceive the demoness Pūthanā, He came as a child and drank her poisoned milk. As she screamed, her life fled through her chest and she fell to the earth. He, who is Lord Yama to the asuras is praised in awe by siddhas and celestial sages. As Mohinī, He once gave sweet nectar to the gods. That Lord—I saw Him in sacred Thiruvallikkēṇi with my own eyes!

Detailed Explanation

He is the Supreme Lord, the Sarvaśeṣi or Universal Master, whom the demoness Pūtanā approached with the most malevolent and deceitful intent. Disguising herself in the tender and loving form of His own mother, Yaśodā, she sought to end the life of the infant Kṛṣṇa.
