239 மிடறுமெழுமெழுத்தோட வெண்ணெய்விழுங்கிப்போய் *
படிறுபலசெய்து இப்பாடியெங்கும்திரியாமே *
கடிறுபலதிரி கானதரிடைக்கன்றின்பின் *
இடறஎன்பிள்ளையைப்போக்கினேன் எல்லேபாவமே.

Simple Translation

239. Yashodā says "“I don’t want him to steal butter, and gulp it as it glides softly down his throat and do all sorts of mischief, roaming about in this cowherd village Gokulam. So I’ve sent him behind the calves to the forest paths where many elephants wander and people trip and stumble. O, What a terrible thing I have done!”

வெண்ணெய் — வெண்ணெய்; மிடறு — தொண்டையில்; மெழுமெழுத்து ஓட — மழமழவென்று ஓட; விழுங்கிப்போய் — விழுங்கிவிட்டு; படிறு — கள்ள வேலைகள் விஷமங்கள்; பல செய்து — பல செய்துகொண்டு; இப்பாடி எங்கும் — ஆய்ப்பாடியில்; திரியாமே — திரிந்துகொண்டிருக்காமல்; கடிறு பல — காட்டு யானைகள்; திரி கான் அதரிடை — பல திரியும் காட்டிலே; கன்றின் பின் இடற — மாடு மேய்க்க கன்றுகளின் பின்னே; போக்கினேன் — அனுப்பினேனே; எல்லே பாவமே! — அந்தோ என்ன பாவம் செய்தேனோ!
