தெய்வத் தலைவன்

238 அவ்வவ்விடம்புக்கு அவ்வாயர்பெண்டிர்க்குஅணுக்கனாய் *
கொவ்வைக்கனிவாய்கொடுத்துக் கூழைமைசெய்யாமே *
எவ்வும்சிலையுடை வேடர்கானிடைக்கன்றின்பின் *
தெய்வத்தலைவனைப்போக்கினேன் எல்லேபாவமே.

Simple Translation

238. Yashodā says, “I don’t want him to wander here and there in the cowherd village doing naughty things. Let him not approach the cowherd girls and kiss them with his lips that are like kovvai fruits. So I’ve sent that divine one, the king of gods, to the forest behind the calves where hunters carry afflicting bows. O what a terrible thing have I done!”

அவ்வவ் — அந்தந்த வேறு வேறு; இடம்புக்கு — வீடுகளுக்குச் சென்று; அவ் ஆயர் — அங்கு ஆய்ப்பாடி; பெண்டிர்க்கு — பெண்களுக்கு; அணுக்கனாய் — நெருங்கிய அன்பனாய்; கொவ்வைக் கனிவாய் — சிவந்த தன் அதரத்தை; கொடுத்து — கொடுத்து; கூழைமை செய்யாமே — களிக்கவிடாமல்; எவ்வும் சிலைஉடை — பயமூட்டும் வில்லையுடைய; வேடர் கானிடை — வேடர்கள் இருக்கும் காடுகளில்; கன்றின் பின் — மாடுமேய்க்க கன்றுகளின் பின்னே; தெய்வத் தலைவனை — தேவர்களுக்கும் தலைவனை; போக்கினேன் — அனுப்பினேனே; எல்லே பாவமே! — அந்தோ என்ன பாவம் செய்தேனோ!

kūḻaimai cĕyyāme — to avoid Him; iṭampukku — going to; avvav — different houses; aṇukkaṉāy — going closer; kŏṭuttu — and giving a kisses with His; kŏvvaik kaṉivāy — red lips; pĕṇṭirkku — to women of; av āyar — Aiyarpadi; pokkiṉeṉ — I sent Him; tĕyvat talaivaṉai — who is the Lord of the gods; kaṉṟiṉ piṉ — to go behind the cattle; veṭar kāṉiṭai — where reside the hunters; ĕvvum cilaiuṭai — with scary looking bows; ĕlle pāvame! — what a sinful thing I have done
