பாடகத்தானையே ஏத்தித் தொழுமின்

2275 உற்றுவணங்கித்தொழுமின் * உலகேழும்
முற்றும்விழுங்கும் முகில்வண்ணன் * - பற்றிப்
பொருந்தாதான்மார்பிடந்து பூம்பாடகத்துள்
இருந்தானை * ஏத்தும்என்நெஞ்சு.
2275 uṟṟu vaṇaṅkit tŏzhumiṉ * ulaku ezhum

Simple Translation

2275. My heart bows to his feet and worships the cloud-colored god of beautiful Thiruppādagam, who split open the chest of his enemy Hiranyan and swallowed all the seven worlds,

உலகு ஏழும் — ஏழு உலகங்களையும்; முற்றும் விழுங்கும் — முழுதும் உண்டவனும்; முகில் — மேகம் போன்ற; வண்ணன் — வடிவுடையவனும்; பொருந்தாதான் — இரணியனை; பற்றி — பிடித்து; மார்பு — அவன் மார்பை; இடந்து — கிழித்தவனும்; பூம் பாடகத்துள் — திருப்பாடகத்தில்; இருந்தானை — இருப்பவனுமான; என் நெஞ்சு — பெருமானை என் மனது; ஏத்தும் — துதிக்கும்; உற்று வணங்கி — நீங்களும் வணங்கி; தொழுமின் — துதிப்பீர்களாக
ulagu ĕzhum muṝum vizhungum — swallowing all the worlds without leaving out anything (so that deluge cannot destroy them); mugilvaṇṇan — one who has the complexion of cloud; porundhādhān — iraṇiyan (hiraṇyakashyap) who was not a match for him; paṝi — catching hold of him; pūmpādagaththul̤ irundhānai — emperumān who is sitting in the beautiful divine abode of thiruppādagam; en nenju — my heart; ĕththum — will worship; uṝu vaṇangith thozhumin — hold on to him, worship him and attain him (without leaving him)
