Thiruppāṇ Āzhvār, with his bhakti on a totally different plane, fully immersed himself in thoughts of the Supreme Being (Lord of Srirangam who is the Supreme Lord Sriman Nārāyanā a.k.a Sri Krishna) and focussed on enjoying the archāvathārā (manifested form) of Emperumān alone. He is known for his affiliation to Ranganāthā perumāl of Srirangam and is traditionally believed to have merged with the deity along with his mortal sheath in the sanctum sanctorum.

திருப்பாணாழ்வார் பர, வியூக, விபவங்களின் மேன்மைகளைக் கூறாமல், 'உள்ளங்கை நெல்லிக்கனி' போல இங்கு, இப்பொழுது அனுபவிக்க கிடைக்கும் அர்ச்சாவதாரமாய் திருக்கண் வளர்ந்தருளும் திருவரங்கனை அனுபவித்து பாடுகிறார். அரங்கனின் அருளே காரணமாக தனக்கு அவனிடம் அன்பு பெருக, அவன் தானே வந்து தன்னை காட்டித்தர, அவனது திவ்ய மங்கள விக்ரஹ திருமேனியை பாதாதி கேசம் அனுபவிக்கிறார்.
