கண்ணுக்கினியவன்; எண்ணற்கு அரியவன்

237 வண்ணக்கருங்குழல் மாதர்வந்துஅலர்தூற்றிடப் *
பண்ணிப்பலசெய்து இப்பாடியெங்கும்திரியாமே *
கண்ணுக்கினியானைக் கானதரிடைக்கன்றின்பின் *
எண்ணற்கரியானைப்போக்கினேன் எல்லேபாவமே.

Simple Translation

237. Yashodā says, “I don’t want him to wander around Gokulam doing naughty things and so the beautiful dark-haired women there come and gossip about him. He, the god beyond all thought is sweet to the eyes of all. O, I have sent him to the forest behind the calves to graze them. What a terrible thing I have done!”

வண்ணக் கருங்குழல் — கரு நிறக் கூந்தலையுடைய; மாதர் வந்து — பெண்கள் வந்து; அலர் தூற்றி — பழிச்சொல்லும்படி; பண்ணிப் பல செய்து — தீமைகள் பல செய்து; இப் பாடி எங்கும் — இந்த ஆயர்பாடிஎங்கும்; திரியாமே — திரியாதிருக்க; கான் அதரிடை — காட்டு வழியில்; கன்றின்பின் — மாடு மேய்க்க; கண்ணுக்கு — கண்களுக்கு; இனியானை — இனிமையானவனை; எண்ணற்கு — எண்ணங்களுக்கு; அரியானை — அப்பாற்பட்ட பிரானை; போக்கினேன் — அனுப்பினேனே; எல்லே பாவமே! — அந்தோ என்ன பாவ காரியம் செய்தேன்!
