குறை கூறமாட்டேன்

158 கறந்தநற்பாலும் தயிரும் கடைந்துஉறிமேல்வைத்த வெண்ணெய் *
பிறந்ததுவேமுதலாகப் பெற்றறியேன்எம்பிரானே! *
சிறந்தநற்றாய்அலர்தூற்றும் என்பதனால்பிறர்முன்னே *
மறந்தும்உரையாடமாட்டேன் மஞ்சனமாடநீவாராய்.

158 kaṟanta naṟpālum tayirum * kaṭaintu uṟimel vaitta vĕṇṇĕy *
piṟantatuve mutalākap * pĕṟṟaṟiyeṉ ĕmpirāṉe **

Simple Translation

158. Since your birth, I have not seen good milk the churned yogurt and the butter that I put on the uri. O beloved child, I’ll be careful not to speak of these things in front of others because they may gossip, "I’m your stepmother and am treating you badly. "Come and bathe in the fragrant turmeric water.
