31 அதிரும்கடல்நிறவண்ணனை * ஆய்ச்சி
மதுரமுலையூட்டி வஞ்சித்துவைத்து *
பதறப்படாமே பழந்தாம்பாலார்த்த *
உதரம்இருந்தவாகாணீரே ஒளிவளையீர்! வந்துகாணீரே.

Simple Translation

31. The cowherdess Yashodā fed him sweet milk from her breasts and tricked him and tied Him (Damodaran) up with an old rope without worrying about him. O girls ornamented with shining bangles, come, see the stomach of the child that has the mark and dark color of the roaring ocean. Come and see his stomach.

அதிரும் கடல்நிற — கோஷிக்கின்ற கடலின்; வண்ணனை — நிறத்தையுடைய கண்ணனை; ஆய்ச்சி மதுர முலை ஊட்டி — யசோதை இனிய பாலூட்டி; வஞ்சித்து வைத்துப் — தான் கட்டப்போவதை இவன் அறியாவண்ணம்; பதறப் படாமே — தன் எண்ணம் தப்பாதபடி; பழந் தாம்பால் — பழைய கயிற்றால்; ஆர்த்த — கட்டிய; உதரம் இருந்தவா — திருவயிற்றின்; காணீரே — அழகைப் பாரீர்; ஒளி — ஒளிமிக்க; வளையீர்! — வளையல்களையுடைய பெண்களே!; வந்து காணீரே! — வந்து பாரீர்!
