அந்தோ! இராமபிரானை நினையாமல் இளமை கழிந்ததே!

2666 தெரிந்துணர்வொன்றின்மையால் தீவினையேன் * வாளா
இருந்தொழிந்தேன் கீழ்நாள்களெல்லாம் * - கரந்துருவின்
அம்மானை அந்நான்றுபின் தொடர்ந்த * ஆழியங்கை
அம்மானையேத்தாதயர்ந்து.

Simple Translation

2666. I have done bad karmā and not knowing him I have passed all my days in vain. I did not follow and praise him who carries a discus in his beautiful hand.

அந்நான்று — முன்பொரு காலத்தில்; கரந்துருவின் — தன் உருவத்தை மறைத்துக்கொண்டு; அம் மானை — மாரீச மானை; பின் தொடர்ந்த — பின் தொடர்ந்து; சென்று — சென்று அதைக்கொன்றவனான; ஆழி அங்கை — மோதிரம் அணிந்த; அம்மானை — அப்பெருமானை வணங்காமல்; தீ வினையேன் — மகாபாவியான நான்; தெரிந்துணர்வு — நல்ல உணர்வு என்னும் அறிவு; ஒன்று இன்மையால் — ஒன்றும் இல்லாததால்; ஏத்தாது அயர்த்து — வாழ்த்தி வணங்காமல்; கீழ் நாள்கள் எல்லாம் — கீழ் கழிந்த நாட்களை; வாளா இருந்து ஒழிந்தேன் — வீணாக கழித்தேனே
