திருத்தியகோறம்பும்திருக்குழலும் *
அந்தரமுழவத்தண்தழைக்காவின்கீழ்
வருமாயரோடுஉடன்வளைகோல்வீச *
அந்தமொன்றில்லாதஆயப்பிள்ளை
அறிந்தறிந்துஇவ்வீதிபோதுமாகில் *
பந்துகொண்டானென்றுவளைத்துவைத்துப்
பவளவாய்முறுவலும்காண்போம்தோழீ!

பந்து கொண்டான் என்று வளைத்து வைத்துப் * பவளவாய் முறுவலும் காண்போம் தோழீ (6)

Simple Translation

259. He wears a shining sinduram and a perfect nāmam on his divine forehead. As the lovely music of flutes and the sound of drums play, he will come into the flourishing grove with the cowherds carrying their grazing sticks He is a beautiful cowherd child, yet he is the eternal god When he walks on the street as if he knows everything, let's stop him and tell him that he stole our ball and see the lovely smile on his coral mouth.

taṉ tiru nĕṟṟi mel — He has on His forehead; tiruttiya koṟampum — a perfect nāmam; cinturam ilaṅka — and shining sinduram; tirukkuḻalum — with beautiful hair; varum āyaroṭu — comes along with cowherd children; kāviṉkīḻ — under the umbrella made of peacock feathers; taṇ taḻai — held by His friends; antaram muḻava — with the sound that calms the sky; āyap pil̤l̤ai — the Lord of aiyarpadi; antam ŏṉṟu illāta — with boundless beauty; uṭaṉ val̤aikol vīca — is swinging a curved horn; potum ākil — if He comes; aṟintu aṟintu — knowingly; iv vīti — on these streets; ĕṉṟu val̤aittu vaittu — lets catch hold of Him accusing that; pantu kŏṇṭāṉ — He took our ball; muṟuvalum — to see His beautiful smile; paval̤avāy — from His red coral like mouth; kāṇpom, toḻī! — o friend, lets see Him to satisfy our mind
