உத்தான விழா

20 பத்துநாளும்கடந்த இரண்டாநாள் *
எத்திசையும் சயமரம்கோடித்து *
மத்தமாமலை தாங்கியமைந்தனை *
உத்தானம்செய்து உகந்தனர்ஆயரே.

Simple Translation

20. (Thirukkottiyur) On the twelfth day of the birth, the cowherds planted poles of victory in all directions. They carried the baby, the one who held the mountain with elephants (Govardhanāgiri) in his finger and they rejoiced.

பத்து நாளும் கடந்த — பத்து நாளும் கடந்த; இரண்டாம் நாள் — பன்னிரண்டாம் நாள் நாமகர்ண தினத்திலே; எத் திசையும் — எல்லா திசைகளிலும்; சயமரம் — ஜய சூசகமான தோரணங்களைக்; கோடித்து — கட்டி அலங்கரித்து; மத்தமா மலை — யானைகள் உள்ள மலையைத்; தாங்கிய மைந்தனை — தூக்கிய பிரானை; ஆயர் உத்தானம் செய்து — ஆயர்கள் கையில் வைத்து; உகந்தனர் — மகிழ்ந்தனர்
