Sacred Recitation
Prabandha-anusandhānam ('tracking through / meditating upon the Prabandham') is the practice of daily recitation of the Nālāyira Divya Prabandham — the 4,000 Tamil verses of the twelve Āzhvārs. In Śrī Vaiṣṇava households and maṭhas, specific verses are recited at specific times: at dawn (tiruppalliezhucci), at worship, and at rest.
Equivalent to Vedic Svādhyāya
The tradition holds the Divya Prabandham to be Ubhaya Vedānta — the Tamil Veda standing alongside the Sanskrit Vedas. Accordingly, prabandha-anusandhānam carries the same sanctifying power as the daily Vedic recitation (svādhyāya) mandated by Smṛti.
Systematization
Manavāḷa Māmunigaḷ systematized the recitation schedule — which decads belong to which occasions, deities, and moods — and this structure remains alive in South Indian Śrī Vaiṣṇava communities and temples today.
