I Saw the Lord on Garuḍa in Naṟaiyūr

கருடவாகனனை நறையூரில் கண்டேன்

1520 தூவாயபுள்ளூர்ந்துவந்து துறைவேழம் *
மூவாமைநல்கி முதலைதுணித்தானை *
தேவாதிதேவனைச் செங்கமலக்கண்ணானை *
நாவாயுளானை நறையூரில்கண்டேனே.

Simple Translation

1520. The lord came on Garudā, the faultless bird and killed the crocodile that had caught Gajendra the elephant on the bank of the pond and saved him. He is the god of gods and he has lovely lotus eyes and I saw him, the god of Thirunāvāy in Thirunaraiyur.
