Simple Translation

1254. Our Thirumāl who took the form of a shining lion that never retreats and went to Hiranyan and split open his chest with his sharp claws stays in beautiful Thiruthevanārthohai in Nāngai where flowers bloom in the groves and divine, famous Brahmins have an abundant wealth of knowledge of the sastras.

Detailed Explanation

Out of His boundless and overwhelming love for His devotees, the Supreme Lord, Sarvēśvaran, assumed the divine form of Narasiṁha—a wondrous manifestation not ordinarily seen within this world. With His sharp, divinely firm nails, which would not bend or yield in the slightest, He tore asunder the malevolent Hiraṇyāsura and violently churned the very limbs within his body.
