maṉ uṭaiya vipīṭaṇaṟkā matil̤ ilaṅkait ticainokki malarkkaṇ vaitta *

Simple Translation

413. Even if Lakshmi( Thāyār) complains to her beloved that His devotees do things that are wrong he answers her, “My devotees will not do wrong, and even if they do, it is for good reason. ” He graces Vibhishana from Srirangam surrounded by walls. How can the devotees think of praying to other gods?

தாமரையாள் ஆகிலும் — பிராட்டியாரேயாகிலும்; தன் அடியார் — தனக்கு அடிமைப்பட்டவர்; திறத்தகத்து — விஷயத்திலே; சிதகு — அவர்கள் குற்றங்களை; உரைக்கும் — சொல்லத்; ஏல் — தொடங்கினாளேயாகில்; என் அடியார் — என் அடியார்; அது செய்யார் — அப்படி குற்றங்களை செய்ய மாட்டார்கள்; செய்தாரேல் — அப்படிச் செய்தார்களேயானாலும்; நன்று செய்தார் — அவை எனக்கு போக்கியங்களே; என்பர் போலும் — என்று சொல்பவர் போலும்; மன் உடைய — செல்வம் மாறாத; விபீடணற்கா — விபீஷணனனுக்காக; மதிள் இலங்கை — மதிள்களையுடைய இலங்கை; திசைநோக்கி — முகமாக நோக்கி; மலர்க்கண் — மலர் கண்களால் பார்த்தபடி சயனித்துள்ளார்; என்னுடைய திருவரங்கற்கு — என்னுடைய அரங்கற்கு; அன்றியும் — அல்லால்; மற்று ஒருவர்க்கு — வேறு ஒருவருக்கு; ஆள் ஆவரே? — அடிமை செய்யலாகுமோ?

tāmaraiyāl̤ ākilum — even if the great mother; el — begins to; uraikkum — talk about; citaku — the sins; taṉ aṭiyār — of those who have surrendered to Him; tiṟattakattu — in that matter; ĕṉpar polum — the Lord will say; ĕṉ aṭiyār — My devotees; atu cĕyyār — will not commit sins; cĕytārel — even if they did; naṉṟu cĕytār — those are still offerings to Me; vipīṭaṇaṟkā — for Vibhishena; maṉ uṭaiya — to have properous country; malarkkaṇ — He lies with his eyes; ticainokki — facing; matil̤ ilaṅkai — the well secured Sri Lanka; āl̤ āvare? — is it right to be a devotee?; maṟṟu ŏruvarkku — to anyone else; aṉṟiyum — other than; ĕṉṉuṭaiya tiruvaraṅkaṟku — my Lord (Sri Ranganathar)
