protecting by ruling the heaven —

yāl̤i (a historical lion-faced beast, with four feet and a trunk) —

being the lord —

rudhra who rules over —

being the controller (with his sankalpam (vow)) —

even if they rule —

yāl̤is (an extinct animal which is like a lion, with an additional trunk) —
