Simple Translation

3572. With great pleasure and certainty, I have sold my soul to You, resplendent Lord, in return for the unwavering faith in Your feet that You have bestowed upon me. I see in You many shoulders, numerous crowns, a multitude of lotus eyes, and many feet, each bearing different names. My Sire, I know You intend to shower many favors upon me, a poor soul.

Explanatory Notes

(i) Although the Lord has still not obliged the Āzhvār with His presence, the latter is jubilant that he has not been contaminated by the worldlings and the Lord’s lovely feet are unto him what food and raiment are for the worldlings. This is indeed a great favour done to the Āzhvār by the great Lord, who has not only made the Āzhvār abhor and abjure the ways of the world

In this tenth pāsuram, our revered Āzhvār, having been granted the supreme benediction of Bhagavān's divine feet, now explains the glorious radiance and greatness that Emperumān Himself acquires upon witnessing the Āzhvār’s profound gratitude. As our venerable pūrvācāryas such as Nañjīyar elucidate, Emperumān’s grace made the Āzhvār acutely realize his own incompatibility
