தொண்டர்காள்! குறுங்குடிக்கு வருக; வாழ்வு பெறுக

1800 வாழக்கண்டோம்வந்துகாண்மின்தொண்டீர்காள்! *
கேழல் செங்கண்மாமுகில்வண்ணர்மருவுமூர் *
ஏழைச்செங்கால் இன்துணைநாரைக்குஇரைதேடி *
கூழைப்பார்வைக் கார்வயல்மேயும்குறுங்குடியே.

1800 vāzhak kaṇṭom * vantu kāṇmiṉ tŏṇṭīrkāl̤! *

Simple Translation

1800. We have found the way to be saved. Thirumāl O devotees, come and see! Our lord with a dark cloud-color and beautiful eyes who took the form of a boar to save the earth goddess from the underworld stays in Thirukkurungudi where a heron searches for food in the flourishing paddy fields to take to his beloved red-legged mate.

தொண்டீர்காள்! — தொண்டர்களே!; வாழக் கண்டோம் — வாழ வழி கண்டோம்; வந்து காண்மின் — வந்து பாருங்கள்; ஏழை — மிருதுவான; செங்கால் — சிவந்தகால்களுயுடைய; இன் துணை நாரைக்கு — இனிய ஆண் நாரைக்கு; இரை தேடி — உணவு கொண்டு வந்து கொடுக்கும்; கூழை — க்ருத்ரிமமான; பார்வை — பார்வையையுடைய பெண் நாரை; கார் வயல் — செழித்த வயல்களிலே; மேயும் — மேய்ந்து நிற்கும்; கேழல் — வராஹமாக வந்த பெருமான்; செங்கண் — சிவந்த கண்களுடையவராய்; மா முகில் வண்ணர் — மேக வண்ணராய்; மருவும் ஊர் — விரும்பி வாழும் ஊர்; குறுங்குடியே — திருக்குறுங்குடியே!
