Simple Translation

1133. Once, as fierce Narasimha, with sharp nails as weapons, He tore apart the chest of the mighty Hiraṇya and cast him down in battle. This Lord, my benefactor, dwells in beautiful Kanchipuram, surrounded by close-built mansions. Here, under the white royal umbrella, where emperors rule and armies march with spears and serpent-flags, even the noble Pallava king bowed before Him. This is Parameśvara Viṇṇagaram.

He, who possesses immense strength and formidable weapons (śakti and āyudha), once assumed the divine form of Śrī Narasiṁha. In that fearsome battle of cosmic significance, He confronted the mighty asura, Hiraṇyakaśipu.
