1132. Once, He swiftly came to rescue Gajendra and to remove its sorrow, when a crocodile was breaking the strength of the elephant’s trunk and legs. In the cool pond, He leapt upon Kāliya, the venomous serpent, making it tremble in fear. This Lord resides in beautiful Kanchipuram, surrounded by wide ponds, fragrant groves, and mountain-like strong walls. Long ago, in battle, the mighty Pāṇḍiya king was bewildered by the Pallava king, bearing a serpent on his flag. This victorious king later bowed before Him. This is Parameśvara Viṇṇagaram.
