கார்வண்ணனைத் தொழாத கை கையல்ல

2016 மையார்கடலும் மணிவரையும்மாமுகிலும் *
கொய்யார்குவளையும் காயாவும்போன்றுஇருண்ட
மெய்யானை * மெய்யமலையானைச் சங்கேந்தும்
கையானை * கைதொழா கையல்லகண்டாமே.

2016 mai ār kaṭalum * maṇi varaiyum mā mukilum *
kŏy ār kuval̤aiyum kāyāvum * poṉṟu iruṇṭa

Simple Translation

2016. The lord who stays in the Thirumeyyam hills. and carries a conch in his hand has the color of the dark ocean, of a shining sapphire-like hill, of a dark cloud, of a kuvalai flower blooming on a branch and of a kāyām flower. If the hands of devotees have not worshiped him, they are not truly hands.

மை ஆர் கடலும் — கருத்த அழகிய கடலையும்; மணி வரையும் — நீலமணிமயமான மலையையும்; மா முகிலும் — காளமேகத்தையும்; கொய் ஆர் — பறிக்கத் தகுந்த; குவளையும் — நீலோத்பல புஷ்பத்தையும்; காயாவும் போன்று — காயாம்பூவையும் ஒத்த; இருண்ட — கருத்த; மெய்யானை — திருமேனியையுடையவனும்; மெய்ய — திருமெய்ய; மலையானை — மலைக் கோயிலில் இருப்பவனும்; சங்கு ஏந்தும் — சங்கை ஏந்தும்; கையானை — கையையுடையவனுமான பெருமானை; தொழா கை — தொழாத கைகளானவை; கை அல்ல — கைகள் அல்ல; கண்டாமே — இதனை நாம் நன்கு அறிவோம்
