அரங்கனைக் கண்டு அகம்நெகிழ்தல் எந்நாளோ!

653 மறந்திகழுமனமொழித்துவஞ்சமாற்றி
ஐம்புலன்களடக்கியிடர்ப்பாரத்துன்பம்
துறந்து * இருமுப்பொழுதேத்தியெல்லையில்லாத்
தொன்னெறிக்கண்நிலைநின்றதொண்டரான *
அறம்திகழும்மனத்தவர்தம்கதியைப்பொன்னி
அணியரங்கத்தரவணையில்பள்ளிகொள்ளும் *
நிறம்திகழும்மாயோனைக் கண்டு என்கண்கள்
நீர்மல்கஎன்றுகொலோநிற்கும்நாளே?

653 maṟam tikaḻum maṉam ŏḻittu vañcam māṟṟi *
ayim(vaṉ) pulaṉkal̤ aṭakki iṭarp pārat tuṉpam
tuṟantu * iru muppŏḻutu etti ĕllai illāt

aṟam tikaḻum maṉattavartam katiyai pŏṉṉi *
aṇi araṅkattu aravaṇaiyil pal̤l̤ikŏl̤l̤um *

Simple Translation

653. He changes the evil hearts of people to good, helps them control their five senses and relieves them of the burden of their troubles and sickness, and makes them His devotees so that they can follow the ways of dharma in their minds. When will the day come when my eyes behold the dark-colored Māyon resting on the snake bed in beautiful Srirangam on the Kaveri river and tears swell in my eyes? When will I see Him?
