Yashoda asks a crow to bring a grazing stick for Kannan - (வேலிக் கோல்)
கோல் கொண்டுவா எனல்
Krishna's mother combed his hair. She went inside to bring some good flowers to adorn his hair. The young cowherds were taking the cows to graze. Krishna saw this and longed to go too! He searched for a stick to drive the calves. He asked his mother and cried. "Oh dear! The crow just took it away! Crow! 172. O crow, He cuts sticks from the fences, makes arrows and plays with the boys. He wears a chain with on his round neck and his head is adorned with peacock feathers. 176. O crow, Kannan went as a messenger to Duryodhanā asking him to give the Pāndavās’ land back to them, When Duryodhanā refused to give them even one town. Kannan angrily started the Bhārathā war, drove Arjunā’s chariot in the battle and got victory for the Pāndavās. 181. The Pattan of Villiputhur composed pāsurams using the words of Yashodā as she asked the crow to bring a grazing stick to her beloved child. If devotees recite these ten Tamil pāsurams they will get good children and live happily in the world.
