நப்பின்னை மணாளனையே பாடுவேன்

Simple Translation

3108. Why praise ordinary people tangled in worldly problems when I could devote myself to singing the endless greatness of the spouse of Piṉṉai? Then, when I die, I'd leave this body to reach His divine feet.

Explanatory Notes

(i) Even as the Lord cut out the impediments in the way of attaining the charming Nappiṉṉai, He destroyed all the obstacles confronting the Āzhvār in attaining Him. When, at last, the material body is shaken off, the Āzhvār will acquire non-physical (ultra-mundane) body and serve the Lord, staying at His feet all the time.
