என் கவிதைகள் எம்பிரானுக்கு இனிக்கும்

916 வளவெழும் தவளமாட மதுரை மாநகரந்தன்னுள் *
கவளமால்யானை கொன்ற கண்ணனை அரங்கமாலை *
துவளத்தொண்டாயதொல்சீர்த் தொண்டரடிப்பொடிசொல் *
இளையபுன்கவிதையேலும் எம்பிறார்கினியவாறே. (2)

Simple Translation

916. Thondaradippodi, the pious devotee praised Kannan, Thirumāl, the god of Srirangam, who killed the strong well-fed elephant in flourishing Madhura, that has beautiful palaces decorated with coral. If devotees recite his simple pāsurams they will become his sweet devotees.

val̤avezhum thavazhamĀda – adorned with beautiful, silver-like white colored storied houses. āzhvār speaks of the embellishments in Vada Mathurā, which remained unseen when Kaṇṇan (Kṛṣṇa) was born there, and consoles himself by adorning it with words.
