I Saw the One Who Built the Bridge Across the Sea

கடலில் அணைகட்டியவனைக் கண்டேன்

அணைசெய்துமகிழ்ந்தவன்தன்னை *
கல்லின்மீதியன்றகடிமதிளிலங்கை
கலங்க ஓர்வாளிதொட்டானை *
செல்வநான்மறையோர்நாங்கைநன்னடுவுள்
செம்பொன்செய்கோயிலினுள்ளே *
அல்லிமாமலராள்தன்னொடும்அடியேன்
கண்டுகொண்டல்லல்தீர்ந்தேனே.

Simple Translation

1273. Thirumāl who as Rāma built a bridge with stones, easily made a way over the wide ocean, went to Lankā, shot his arrows and destroyed the strong walls that surrounded it stays in Chemponseykoyil in Nāngai with his beloved Lakshmi where Vediyars recite the four rich Vedās. I, his slave, saw and worshiped him in that temple and all my troubles have gone away.
