Simple Translation

1342. The lovely-eyed Thirumāl who swallowed the whole earth and spat it out and fought in the Bhārathā war and drove the chariot for Arjunā stays in the temple in Thiruvelliyangudi where vālai fish living in the fields, frightened when farmers plow the land, decide, “This is not the place for us!” and move to other beautiful ponds.

Detailed Explanation

He is the supreme sarveśvaraṉ, the Lord of all, whose divine nature is so overcome by love for His devotees that it is akin to a divine madness. His lotus-eyes, ever so slightly reddened by this profound affection, have witnessed His glorious deeds across the ages. Out of boundless mercy during the great dissolution, He consumed the entire earth, holding it securely
